Montlake Fill (Union Bay Natural Area) Birdwalk
Details
The swallows (and mosquitoes) are leaving but the waterfowl are heading in for the winter. Part of enjoying the outdoor is seeing what is all around us as we hike, climb or have a picnic in the backyard. Come see what we might find at one of the local birding areas in Seattle. We will see: waterfowl (such as Northern Shovelers, and Cinnamon teals), sparrows, sandpipers, hungry raptors and maybe an eagle nest. You (most likely) will not see waterfowl as you are hiking, but we should see local songbirds and woodpeckers which you can see on your fall and winter hikes. Often, up to 40 species can be found here.
Meet in the east parking LOT at the Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 41st Street, Seattle, WA 98105) off NE 41st Street, one block beyond the place where Mary Gates Memorial Drive turns left to become NE 41st
