Spring Conditioning Hike

I just got my annual checkup results, and the numbers showed I am doing just fine or at least not dropping dead anytime soon. That prompted me to add one more conditioning hike that I think a drop-dead one. I am thinking about Colchuck-Dragontail Peaks. It is my favorite conditioning hike. I love hearing the sounds of crampons cutting into hard snow/ice when ascending. I am going to be a little picky on this conditioning hike. Small party is always my thing.
Plan:
- Hike to Colchuck Lake and set up camp at the foot of Colchuck Glacier.
- Alpine start TBD. Perhaps 4ish. Relax, enjoy, but efficient.
- Climb Colchuck Peak first. Back to the col (Banshee Pass 'Caltop') and climb up Pandora Box. Drop down that steep wall, varies year to year, then traverse to Dragontail.
** We have a big group, could be time consuming going down one by one.
Team Gear:
- 30m rope (raise your hand if you want to volunteer & bring one).
- Two pickets (comment if you plan to bring one).
Personal Toys:
- Ice axe, crampons, helmet, snowshoes
- Harness, prusik sling
- Camping stuff (google if you don't know). Everyone is an expert in their own way. You can forget anything but not a Blue Bag.
