Details

Who: Backcountry skiers/snowboarders who (1) are in excellent cardio condition and (2) have completed at least 2 prior backcountry ski tours (using Randonee or Telemark gear) involving a minimum of 3,000' of elevation gain.

Ski Gear: Alpine Touring or Telemark skiing equipment with full-length climbing skins. Ski crampons are optional.

Avalanche Gear: beacon, probe, and shovel

Avalanche Training: Avy 1 or above

Navigation Gear: I am bringing map, compass, altimeter, and GPS. Ideally, at least one other skier will be equipped with a GPS.

Distance: 7 miles round-trip

Elevation Gain: 2,400 feet

Pace: ~1,000 ft of elevation gain per hour

Duration: ~3 hour ascent and ~2 hour descent

Carpooling and fuel reimbursement: Riders please bring cash (10 cents / mile) to compensate your driver.
