This event requires permits to attend. The cost of each permit is $10. Please reimburse me before you are moved to the "going" list. Please read the entire description for details.

Join me for a backpacking adventure to Hoh Lake Campground in Olympic National Park. I have obtained 3 camping permits so far, but I can increase the number to 6. I can take two additional people in my car, but to accommodate more passengers, we will need more drivers. Drivers will get priority.

Carpool is self-organized on WhatsApp.

  • Drivers - state how many you can take, from which location, at what time, and the reimbursement amount.
  • Riders - confirm arrangements with drivers

This is a group trip, not a guided tour. You’re responsible for your own safety, preparedness, and honest self-assessment of fitness.

Costs:
Costs should be shared equally.
Current ferry prices from Edmonds to Kingston are:
*Vehicle cost $27
*Each passenger cost $11.35
From Kingston to Edmonds, the vehicle cost is $27, and there is no passenger cost.

The round-trip driving distance is about 224 miles. Due to higher gas prices, the recommended rate is $50 per person for 3 people in one car, but it is up to each driver to determine.

I have paid $6 for the reservation and $8 for each permit. So, each person has to reimburse me $10 within 12 hours of signing up.

At current rates, the total estimated cost per person for this trip is $90.

Refund of permit fees:
If you cancel after August 10, you may not receive a refund for the permit fee.

Signing up and being on the "waitlist" is not enough to attend this event. As stated above, I expect a reimbursement for the permit portion within 12 hours of signing up.

  1. Send me a message on Meetup with your Venmo account.
  2. I will send you a Venmo request.
  3. Reimburse me within 12 hours.
  4. I will move you to the "going list."
