Lead climbing sess at Leavenworth

Beginner and Intermediate Friendly Leavenworth leading oriented trip.

We will be meeting at the Eastgate Park and Ride at 7am for a trip to Leavenworth. We will be going to Playground Point, which is a beginner and intermediate friendly spot with a dozen routes all sport equipped that are easy to lead and follow, with an easy approach. Alternatively we can go to Keen Acres, a trad area with two good moderate leads, or both. The leads are up to 5.9 but mostly easier. This trip is explicitly to promote first-time/beginner leading on sport routes (or trad, if you want to try) that are very accessible and safe. The routes can also be TRed. Because this is a 2 hour drive one way, we are expecting to spend the entire day. The crag is large enough to have enough to do for the day.

The daytime high is forecast as 67 'F, which is almost unheard of in August for Leavenworth, however that is climbable temps for sure and the motivation behind this trip.

Please be a TR and/or lead certified belayer, bring rope/rack/harness/device/helmet, and the desire to lead routes.

I might be able to drive up to 3 people however if more sign up, be prepared to drive.
