MSE: Howdy Stranger - A Flickr Global Photowalk
Details
Hey everyone!
Flickr (http://blog.flickr.net/en/2015/07/30/howdy-stranger-worldwide-photo-walks-august-22nd-and-23rd/) is heading up a worldwide global meetup, focused on creating portraits of strangers. WIth inspiration from things like 100 Strangers (https://www.flickr.com/groups/100strangers/) & Humans of New York (http://www.humansofnewyork.com/), it's something I too have been inspired to walk to explore, in Seattle.
From Flickr's announcement:"There is a long tradition in the Flickr community of taking portraits of strangers, then sharing the story of the encounter with the world. From fantastic groups like 100 Strangers, to personal projects by Flickr members to document the people we find in the streets and out in public, the results of these meetings can be beautiful, intriguing, and moving.
We want to celebrate the stranger-portrait tradition by encouraging you all to making the next global Flickr photowalks all about breaking down the social barriers keeping you from the people around you."
With this in mind, let's explore Seattle Center (http://www.seattlecenter.com/). I know this area will have lots of tourists, but it's also a bit more spread out than something like Pike Place Market, as well there would also be a mix of tourists and locals here.
We will meet outside of the Armory, near the Starbucks.
From there we could move towards Lower Queen Anne, if we're not getting what we hope to!
