Seattle Singles Yacht Club offers sailing classes annually with both classroom and on the water instruction. We changed the dates to accommodate more students. This year’s classes are set for May 15, 22 & 29, with instruction at Captains Nautical Supplies in beautiful Ballard. Classes run from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Cost is $75.

The Basic Sailing Course offers classroom training with experienced sailors and provides a solid foundation of sailing basics.

*** THIS CLASS IS OPEN TO ALL. MEMBERSHIP IN SSYC IS NOT REQUIRED. *** But, if you're interested in joining an amazing group of people, SSYC is the place. Come to our weekly meetings on Monday evening at China Harbor or check out our website at https://seattlesinglesyc.com/

Upon completion of the three classes, students may sign up to sail with SSYC skippers in order to practice what they’ve learned. These classes provide a good introduction to sailing, especially for those who’ve never been on a sailboat or have minimal experience. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to get out on the water on a sailboat!

The $75 registration fee includes textbook, course notes, three classes and on-the-water practice sails. After class completion, students attend a Seattle Singles Yacht Club meeting to sign up for the practice sailing trips. SSYC experienced skippers will take students on their boats and show them how to apply what was learned in class. After successful completion, students receive a certificate of class completion.

Sign up by attending a Monday night meeting of the Seattle Singles Yacht Club. The club meets each Monday at China Harbor Restaurant’s ballroom on the second floor. China Harbor’s address is: 2040 Westlake Ave. N., Seattle. Happy Hour starts at 7 p.m. with the meeting at 7:30 p.m. For more information: info@seattlesinglesyc.com.

If you are unable to attend a Monday meeting, you may sign-up on our website using PayPal: https://seattlesinglesyc.com/boating/sailing-classes/
