Join us for a swim in Green Lake! We meet at the bench/cove just north of the lifeguard area on the WEST beach (What3Words app = reef.puppy.handle) and then swim for any distance you like (easily swim up to 1 mile). A brightly colored swim cap, a buoy are required for safety and a wet suit is highly recommended. The wet suit is especially helpful early in the season but is not necessary. Please arrive at 6 to sign waivers and listen to the safety briefing. We will plan to start swimming at 6:30.
There are no changing rooms/lockers, or gear watch on the beach. A swim buoy with a dry pouch is useful to bring your phone and keys with you on the swim.
*** RSVP's and Electronic Waivers will be checked at 5 PM, RSVP's will be closed at that time, ANYONE who comes and didn't RSVP BEFORE THE 5 PM close will need to sign the paper waiver upon arrival, NO EXCEPTIONS!! The more paper waiver signatures that need to be gathered the longer it takes for the host to be ready! SO SIGN UP EARLY AND SIGN THE ELECTRONIC WAIVER!! *** If your not sure you will make it, but plan to, it's better to RSVP that you are coming and then if you can not make it you can comment here or pm your host.
Please post in the comments below how far you are looking to swim and feel free to ask any questions.
In order to participate in any SGLTG event, you must sign a waiver. Paid members must sign the paid member waiver once per year. Non-paid members must sign a non-member waiver for every event that they attend. In hopes of expediting the waiver process at each event, please sign your waivers electronically by using the following link --
https://sgltg.org/sgltg-participant-waiver/waiver/
-- Again, if your a paid member you will need to log in and sign the waiver ONLY once for 2023, if not then there is a separate link on that page for the non-paid members waiver. Electronic waivers are checked at 5:00 PM when RSVPs close, after that time, you will need to sign the paper waiver on the beach.
