The Big Meetup is back! This is an opportunity for all members of our community to get together to learn and network.

Topic: Why Your Website Should Use HTTPS and How, with speaker Joe Fletcher

HTTPS is quickly becoming the standard for all websites, even non-ecommerce sites, regardless of how large or small. Several developments over the past few years have made switching from http://yoursite.com to https://yoursite.com easier and more important than ever. HTTPS is a more secure way of delivering your website, but it has advantages well beyond just security. This meetup will cover HTTPS and its benefits. Website owners will learn how a switch to HTTPS can improve SEO, security, branding, and speed. WordPress developers will benefit from an overview of the current state of HTTPS and options for implementation.

Agenda

6:30: Doors open, networking and food
7:15: Joe will speak about HTTPS
7:45-8:30: Breakout groups

As always, the Seattle WordPress Meetup is a free, non-judgemental place for people of any skill level, interest, or background to come and learn, share, and participate in our amazing WordPress community.
