Holiday Happy Hour

NOTE: If you are unable to come, please update your RSVP as we only have a set amount of spots in Gather.

Let's celebrate the holiday season together. We've created this opportunity to see old WP friends, make new friends and talk shop in a new and easier to network environment called https://gather.town. We think it will make it more FUN and easier to connect. The interface combines a web-based video call experience with a 2-D virtual world. It offers a proximity-based video chatting platform which automatically starts video conversations when your virtual character approaches others and then closes the video and audio feed when you walk away—recreating the experience of walking around and talking to other people.

It's simple to use but if you want to learn a little more about how it works before the event you can check https://gather.town out to set up your personalized avatar. You can also download this PDF Guest Guide (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QPYe1feR9SrtAjQDlmZm2yaBpzVCt1Vn/view?usp=sharing) to Gather or visit their Help Desk Basics (https://support.gather.town/help/gather-basics). NOTE: Gather works best on a desktop using Chrome or Firefox! No need to create an account.

If Gather works well for this event, we may use it for future events as well so we're hoping to get a good group of folks attending who can then provide us with feedback. Either talk to us there, or ping us on Slack or FB after the event.

RSVP here to get your Gather link. The Gather space has space for up to 25 attendees. We’re letting more folks RSVP than that because we hope to have a full house. We know not everyone will make it but if you RSVP and your plans change please do update your RSVP. And please do NOT share your Gather link with folks who have not RSVP'd.
