Security risk assessments: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Details

Have you ever tried to guess the number of jellybeans in a jar? How close did you get? What method did you use?
Now, what if someone asked you: “What’s the likelihood of this database being breached?” How would you answer that? And more importantly—how would you estimate it?
Humans aren’t naturally great at estimating—especially when it comes to probabilities. Yet we do it all the time. We make decisions based on these gut-feel numbers, often with real consequences.
In cybersecurity, risk assessment is all about making those kinds of estimations. But how good are our current methods? Do they actually work? And can we do better?
In this session, Anna Lezhikova from CyberFern will walk us through the latest trends and frameworks in cyber risk assessment—what’s being used, what’s working, and what’s not.
Then, we’ll dive into some hands-on estimation calibration exercises, where you'll learn how to improve your own estimation skills—an essential ability for anyone dealing with risk.

Come network with like-minded developers, share experiences, and gain valuable insights.

Please note that the entry is open till 5:30 pm (if you can't get in message to 0278544001)
