Kayaking at Lake Tuckahoe

Details
YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN KAYAK
This is a relaxed paddle at Lake Tuckahoe in Tuckahoe State Park where conditions are generally calm. Park details below:

MEET AT TUCKAHOE PARK BOAT RAMP
Tuchahoe State Park has a public boat ramp with a large parking area and launch ramp where our group will meet. See exact location on the event map. Power boats are not allowed, and launching kayaks is free.
PADDLE PLAN
Lake Tuckahoe is a 60-acre body of water that welcomes paddlers to explore scenic woodlands and wildlife along its shore. There is also a smaller side stream leading past the park's campground and hiking trails that has good places to stop. Our group will paddle at an easy pace to sightsee along the way. Total roundtrip distance should be around five miles and take three hours.
ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL SAFETY
Although our group of recreational paddlers look out for each other, we are NOT trained rescue experts. Our SHR paddle events have been successful because we stick together in case anyone needs assistance. Let's keep it that way!
AFTERWARD AT DOC'S IN CENTREVILLE
After our paddle, we can drive 11 miles to Doc's Riverside Grille in Centreville for food and refreshments. Doc's has a relaxed vibe, full menu, and a nice outdoor patio area that our SHR group has enjoyed many times. Details below:

FINAL DETAILS
We'll need decent kayaking weather for this event. A little rain won't stop us and can add to the adventure, but we won't paddle in miserable or dangerous conditions. I'll post a notice here and send out an email by 10:00 am if we need to change plans or cancel.
I hope to see you there!
