Porto-UltimateFrisbee Social Hour!

Details

Mixed-gender mixed-cultural "ultimate frisbee" in Porto is alive and well.
But since daylight savings we've moved our training day to an evening throwing session followed by food and drinks.

We do still organize weekend games and trainings on a case by case basis. Please write us and we can add you to the group.

There is also the option to play on the sand in nearby Braga, where there are lights. The weather is fickle, so write us to be sure the game is on.

Ultimate is a non-contact throwing, running, and jumping team sport. Do you play OR want to learn? We are starting to organize games and trainings between Porto and Braga. Some of us should be there throwing around as early as 6:30. We will start with a small running exercise that warms us up and grows our skills, then we play. Afterwards there might be beer. 🍻

FYI: Braga games are on sand, Friday and Sunday, 6:45 at "Rodovia" beach field.

1. When you have the frisbee, you cannot run, and you have 10 seconds to...

2. Throw the frisbee to a teammate, who must catch it, until

3. Someone catches it in the Endzone (goal!), or

4. The disc hits the ground, goes out of bounds, or is intercepted by the other team, .... then the other team gets to try in the other direction.

We are a mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced players -- all are welcome to join the community!

Fun Facts: Ultimate is played in more than 80 countries by an estimated 7 million people. Even at the top level, players themselves are responsible for arbitration, and choose to agree or disagree respectfully to decide if illegal body contact affected a play.
