Spring nature tour on the Paris 'High Line' to Vincennes 🌸🚂🌳

Details
Spring is coming (yes - really), and what better way to celebrate a than by taking a walk in the sunshine from the Bastille and all the way to the Chateau and woods of Vincennes via a 5km former railway line!
Before we had the RER A, and the Opera at Bastille, there was a grand station with steam trains passing over a grand viaduct heading out to the suburbs. In 1969, the steam engines on avenue Daumesnil’s viaduct whistled their last and the train-line between Bastille and Vincennes closed forever. While the Bastille station was eventually replaced by today’s Opera house, the viaduct was converted into glass-fronted workshops and boutiques for local artisans (the Viaduct des Arts, still there today), and the old lines became La Coulée Verte – a 5km long trail (also known as the Promenade Plantée), made up of elevated gardens, the Jardin de Reuilly and tree lined cycling paths. Whilst most people may know the elevated route - the full walk to Vincennes via tunnels, cuttings and a side exploration of the Petite Ceinture will open your eyes to this under-appreciated gem of Paris!
Join us for an exploration of the line, the history, the nature and just a wonderful afternoon stroll and ride through another secret green space in the heart of the city.
