The forgotten impressionist master and his Medieval village - Moret sur Loing

Celebrate the return of sunny weather with an adventure just an hour south east of Paris but a world (and 700years) away!

Here between the Seine and the Loing rivers lies a string of historic villages on the ancient royal route to Paris - waypoints and fortified towns used by Kings since the 11th century!

Moret-sur-Loing is a picturesque such town - today just a satellite suburb of Fontainebleau but its imposing dungeon, church and more betray its more important past - you may even have seen paintings of it in famous museums by a resident English impressionist artist - Alfred Sisley.

Join us for a tour and explore its historic cobbled streets, followed by a walk along the river and a picnic by the banks with a chance to get your feet in the cool river.

When: Sunday 14th June

Where: Meet at 'MORET - VENEUX LES SABLONS' station. Take the transillien R train from Gare de Lyon at 12:40 (direction Melun). These leave from the upstairs section, Hall 1 platforms K-N. (If you do not have a Navigo pass you will need to buy a ticket). Due to works - a rail replacement bus (direction Montargis) will take you directly to Melun - arriving around 13:52.
