🌳✨ UNA RUTA DE FÁBULA QUE TE ATRAPARÁ
Partimos desde el aparcamiento del Puerto de Cotos (1.830 m), aprovechando la mañana clara y sin viento. Caminamos por la pista que sube hacia Valdesquí, donde superamos una barrera y entramos en una amplia pradera. Al ganar altura, aparecerá ante nosotros el Refugio Pingarrón, y gozaremos de vistas espectaculares de las cumbres de las Cabezas de Hierro, Peñalara y el Valle de la Angostura.

Avanzamos por el alto del Valle de la Angostura, espacio que acoge las cabeceras del río Lozoya antes de unirse con los arroyos Aquilón y Umbría cerca del Monasterio del Paular. Desde aquí, tiramos por un sendero que nos conduce al Arroyo de las Guarramillas. Pasaremos junto a una pasarela de madera (sin cruzarla), y seguiremos por la margen izquierda del arroyo, dejándonos guiar por el suave murmullo del agua hasta llegar a la primera joya del día: la Poza Sócrates (aprox. 2,2 km y 1.750 m).

Tras disfrutar de ese rincón, continuamos descendiendo por una senda algo difusa junto al arroyo. Al acercarnos al Arroyo de los Cotos, encontraremos otra pasarela que nos llevará a la orilla contraria. Navegamos por entre rocas y bosquetes hasta conectarnos con una pista forestal amplia que desemboca en la Poza Joselu (aprox. 6 km y 1.530 m), otro lugar ideal para parar, reponer energías y disfrutar de la naturaleza.

Desde la Poza Joselu, retomamos el Camino de las Vueltas. Tras unos 0,5 km, giramos a la izquierda para cruzar la M-604 y, ya al otro lado, seguimos por el Camino Viejo del Paular hasta volver al aparcamiento del Puerto de Cotos, dando por concluida esta ruta de alta montaña.

🌳✨ A FAIRYTALE ROUTE THAT WILL ENCHANT YOU
We start from the car park at Puerto de Cotos (1,830 m), enjoying the calm of a clear, windless morning. We walk along the track towards Valdesquí, pass a barrier, and enter a broad alpine meadow. As we climb, the Pingarrón Shelter appears, with epic views of Cabezas de Hierro, Peñalara and the Angostura Valley.

We continue along the upper Angostura Valley, home to the headwaters of the Lozoya River before it joins the Aquilón and Umbría streams near El Paular Monastery. From here, we follow a trail to the Guarramillas Stream. Passing a wooden bridge (without crossing), we stay on the left bank, listening to the gentle murmur of the water until we reach the day’s first gem: Sócrates Pool (approx. 2.2 km, 1,750 m elevation).

After enjoying that hidden corner, we descend along a slightly faint trail beside the stream. Approaching the Cotos Stream, we cross another footbridge to the opposite bank, navigating between rocks and small woods until we join a wide forest track that leads to Joselu Pool (approx. 6 km, 1,530 m). Another perfect stop to rest, snack and soak up the wild surroundings.

From Joselu Pool, we rejoin the Camino de las Vueltas. After 0.5 km, we turn left to cross the M-604 road. On the other side, we pick up the old Camino del Paular, which takes us back to the Puerto de Cotos car park, concluding this stunning high-altitude adventure.
