The Cradle of Brussels – The Neolithic & Celtic Woods

Details

Dear Brussels lovers,

This tour is one of the highlights of the year. For those who missed it and for the newcomers, we decided to repeat the event this year.

We will again explore the Zonian Forest in the commune of Watermael – Bosvoorde (Watermael - Boitsfort).

With the Neolithic settlement and the Tumuli that we will visit, this place is worth the title "Cradle of Brussels".

We will explain to you the origin of the Zonian Forest, the trees, the astonishing hilly landscape (in the Solvay park), the concept behind the monument for the Zaventem victims, but also focus on the Neolithic and Celtic traces.

We will surprise you with a Celtic drink, you will learn all about druids, the Celtic tree calendar and especially their beloved oak trees. We will talk about the Celtic revival in the 19th century with the ‘creative’ Wicca movement in the slipstream. That and much more.

Brussels is the second greenest capital in the world. With its plentiful nature, this tour will clearly testify this. This will be a perfectly healthy and sportive start of your weekend!
