SecTalks Hobart - May - Contributing to Open Source Security in 2026
Details
This month we have a great talk lined up.
Open source powers critical infrastructure, but most projects are maintained by volunteers without security resources.
Our presenters will discuss the practicalities and considerations of contributing to open source security projects in the current era, and we will then open the group up for further discussion.
You won't need a laptop this month but are of course welcome to bring one for note keeping or tinkering.
You can find us at Lower Mathers House, 108-110 Bathurst St, Hobart. Walk down the left side of the building, and enter through the glass door on the side of the lower level. There is plenty of parking available nearby, and a short well-lit walk to the bus interchange.
Pizza is kindly provided by our sponsor Continusec - thank you Adam!
Please feel free to forward this event to anyone in your circles who might be interested - all are welcome.
What is SecTalks
SecTalks meetups are about participating in IT security discussions, learning from others, and improving problem-solving skills. SecTalks offers an avenue where you can team up with like-minded people to participate in solving technical IT security challenges (i.e. Capture The Flag).
