SecTalks - Just a casual meet... we miss ya.

Hello, SecTalks Melbourne! 👋 It's been a while.

It's 2025, and we're finally back! It’s great to have you all here after such a long break. A lot has happened.

Early last year, with significant changes in circumstances for many in the organising team, we took a pause from organising meetups. With the pause, led by pi3ch (Pedram), we’ve taken the time to set up SecTalks as a proper non-profit organisation.

We're so excited that SecTalks is now a non-profit !!! We're excited to be back!

It’s a reboot of SecTalks Melbourne, led by Dan (hoodiePony), Saj (sml555), and JohnG.

We’d like to greatly thank multiplex3r, and securitymeta_ for their tireless efforts in leading SecTalks Melbourne as they pass on the torch, and PWC for providing us a place to meet for these past 7+ years. Not to forget the countless volunteers, participants, and contributors that have given so much to the community; THANK YOU! None of this could happen without YOU! 🤘

We’re excited to kick off the year with a casual meetup to reconnect before we dive back into our usual program with regular meetups planned for March 2025. A lot has changed in the meetup landscape, and we hope you'd join us as we figure out how we will rebuild this community of knowledge sharing and uplifting each other's technical capabilities together.

We're meeting at our usual watering hole, the Hopscotch Bar. It's pay for your own drinks and meals at this casual meet. Since we're not quite sure how many will show, the organisers are getting there early to grab a table - we'll post where we're at in the comments for the event below. Please try to keep your RSVP updated so that we have a rough idea how many tables we’re to grab.
