Details
When:
5:45 for 6pm start (QLD time).
This months topic:
Applying Indigenous (Australian) Philosophy to Cyber Security Strategies - Jasmine Woolley
We will be looking at three elements of Indigenous philosophy and how it corresponds to what is needed for a strong, robust, cyber security strategy. Overall, this links to the bigger picture rethinking our current cyber security problems and rebooting to strengthen responses to threats.
Following the talk, we will break for dinner (provided for in person attendees) before participating in a CTF (Capture the Flag) hands on session.
Our Guest Speaker:
Jasmine Woolley is employed as Security Advisor Graduate at Trustwave. In 2021, she was one of twenty Australian women chosen by Project Friedman to receive professional public speaking training and speak at a cyber security conference. The Project is sponsored by ASD and WomenSpeakCyber.
She has interned with the Counterterrorism Group as a Counterrorism Analyst and OSINT Liaison Officer for the SOUTHCOM region. She has spoken on the Threat Intelligence Podcast regarding security concerns in Latin America.
She also interned with the Asia Pacific Research Centre for the Responsibility to Protect where she created policy recommendations for Security Sector Reform.
