# Presentation

"In this presentation, I will be speaking about my journey and the lessons I've learnt from the perspective of being a convicted hacker. I'll be detailing my background and life journey to give a greater context of how easy it can be for someone to end up down the path I did. I'll be speaking about my thought process, mentality, and mindset of a hacker, which will offer a unique and valuable insight for companies/organisations wishing to defend against threat actors. I'll also be speaking about the consequences and struggles that I have had in the past 10 years of trying to get into the cybersecurity industry, including some of the inconsistent and confusing advice security professionals and recruiters give to someone with a hacking conviction. I'll be ending the presentation with some questions for the security industry, with the hopes of kick starting some discussions so that others don't face the same struggles as I have."
