Hi Tim:
Last bad cold I researched cold and flu prevention. Long story, but 2 people inside of 10 minutes recommended, the following day, that I rinse my sinuses/do netis. One guy told me about the neti alternative which is quite gentle, and takes a little less getting used to -- and they sell it at CVS. Also good for hastening the end of a cold.
