Roots & Remembrance
Details
As we move into the season when the veil is said to grow thin,
we'll gather to explore the ancestral roots we each bring
to medicine work.
Psychedelic culture draws from many Indigenous and traditional
practices-sometimes thoughtfully and respectfully, and sometimes
in ways that raise important questions about appropriation.
In this gathering, we turn our attention toward our own lineages.
How did our ancestors seek healing, enter altered or expanded states, connect with the sacred, or make meaning from experiences or states of consciousness? What has been passed down? What was lost?
What might we reclaim-and how can knowing our own roots help
us approach other cultures and their medicines with greater respect?
Through conversation, a guided roots map exercise, and shared stories, we'll explore how our ancestry, traditions, and lived experiences can inform a more authentic, respectful, and meaningful relationship with plant medicine.
Bring a food, story or tradition from your ancestry that you would like to share with the group.
Location shared with all who register.
