Baldwin Loop

Details
Hello hikers. Our hike on Monday, April 28, 2025 will be the Baldwin Loop. This is a favorite loop trail at the base of Cathedral Rock offering some excellent views with an optional short side trip to the banks of Oak Creek. I plan to hike in the counter clockwise direction and hike the side trip to the banks of Oak Creek.
Challenge Level: Moderate
Hiking Distance: About a 2.7 mile loop
Hiking Time: About 2 hours round trip
Trailhead Directions: The trailhead is located on the unpaved portion of Verde Valley School Road. From the “Y” roundabout, drive south on SR 179 about 7 miles to the Jacks Canyon/Verde Valley School Road roundabout then take the first exit onto Verde Valley School Road. Drive 4.5 miles to the Baldwin Trail parking area on the left (west) side of Verde Valley School Road {1}. The last part of Verde Valley School Road is unpaved but a regular passenger vehicle should have no problem with it. The trailhead is across the road from the north end of the parking area.
A Red Rock Pass or equivalent is required for parking. There are toilets at the parking area. You are responsible for your safety on the hike.
