HT/Templeton/Easy Breezy Loop

Hello hikers,

Our hike on Monday, May 19, 2025 will be the HT/Templeton/Easy Breezy Loop. This is a moderate, 5 mile hike which will take us from the Little Horse Trail parking lot to the base of Cathedral Rock and back.

Summary: A partially shaded in-out or loop hike to the base of Cathedral Rock

Challenge Level: Moderate

Hiking Distance: About 2.6 miles each way to the intersection of the Cathedral Rock Trail or about 5.1 miles as a loop hike

Hiking Time: About 4 hours round trip

Cumulative Ascent: 560 feet

Trailhead Directions: From the "Y" roundabout, drive south on SR 179 about 3.5 miles. Just past the Back O' Beyond roundabout, you'll see a Scenic View sign and a hiking sign on the right side of SR 179 and a left turn lane on the left. Turn left here then proceed to the parking area {1}. This parking area also serves the Bell Rock Pathway (Bell Rock Trail) and Little Horse Trails. There are toilets at the parking area. A Red Rock Pass or equivalent is required for parking.

Currently there is a 10% chance of rain on Monday. The temperature when we start at 7:30 AM is projected to be 50 degrees and will climb to about 65 degrees when we finish. You are responsible for your safety on the hike.
