Short Hike and Forest Bathing
Meet: Lot at the end of Verde Valley School Road (near Baldwin Trailhead)
Distance: .5 miles total, out and back
Approximate Duration: 2 hours
You are invited to reconnect with nature through a slow, easy hike that includes forest bathing.
We will meet at the lot at the end of Verde Valley School Road which is near the Baldwin Trailhead. We will walk down the road for a few minutes then take a side trail to Oak Creek. This hike has pavement, gravel, then turns into a rocky dirt path that takes us through a low growth, grassy forest.
This is a mindful, slow-paced experience that encourages participants to slow down, observe, and connect with their surroundings. It’s about engaging all five senses: seeing the intricate details of leaves, hearing the soothing sounds of birdsong, smelling the earth, feeling the textures of trees. This guided walk is designed to enhance well-being and deepen your connection with the natural world. Throughout the walk, there will be a series of invitations that give you the opportunity to cultivate presence, promote healing, and actively connect with the land in ways you might not have tried before. This walk will close with a tea ceremony.
Wear hiking shoes and comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting a little dirty. We will be sitting on rocks and the ground. Drinking water and sunscreen are recommended.
Leader is a student and this hike is an assignment that the leader needs to to complete for her course work.
