The Pyramid to Scorpion Trail Loop is a scenic hike in West Sedona, Arizona, known for its striking red rock formations and relatively moderate terrain. The trail is often described as moderately challenging due to uneven terrain, rocky sections, and some gradual inclines, making it suitable for hikers with basic experience and good balance. It is generally considered beginner-friendly, though certain technical sections on the Pyramid Trail require careful footing.

In addition to the loop, we will also be taking a .8-mile roundtrip spur trail to the summit of Pyramid Mountain, which will offer 360-degree views including Red Rocks State Park, Oak Creek, Thunder Mountain, etc...
Hopefully, the ocotillos on the south side of the mountain will be in bloom.

The total distance should be about 3.2 miles with about 480 feet of elevation. We will leave the parking lot promptly at 8:00am

The weather will be cooler than this previous week but be prepared for quickly warming temperatures, hence the 8:00am start time.

Parking is free, although the lot is small, so park conservatively. There is also additional parking across the street and to the left on the shoulder of the road.

There are no restrooms at this location. The Courtyard Marriot Lobby is at AZ89A and Red Rock Loop Road, where you turn to get to the trailhead lot.

You and you alone are responsible for your own safety and ability to complete this hike, as agree to when you joined this Meetup group.
