Baldwin Loop Trail
Details
Hello hikers. Join me Monday, May 18, 2026 for a hike on the Baldwin Loop Trail. We'll hike the loop in a counterclockwise direction and toward the end of the hike we'll take a side trip on a social trail to the banks of Oak Creek.
This 3 mile hike is rated easy to moderate and has a cumulative ascent of about 325 feet. We'll begin the hike at 7:00 AM to make sure we have parking at this popular trailhead.
The trailhead is located at the end of Verde Valley School Road. To reach it, from the "Y" roundabout, drive south on SR 179 about 7 miles to the Jacks Canyon/Verde Valley School Road roundabout then take the first exit onto Verde Valley School Road. At 4 miles, you'll pass the Turkey Creek parking area on your left and at 4.5 miles you'll see the Baldwin Trail parking area on the left (west) side of Verde Valley School Road {1}. The trailhead is across the road from the north end of the parking area.
A Red Rock Pass or equivalent is required for parking. There are toilets at the parking area.
This is a senior-led hike. So if you are looking for a cardio workout, this is not the hike for you. You are responsible for your safety on the hike.
