Join me Monday, May 25, 2026 for our traditional Memorial Day hike on the Fay Canyon Trail. We've been hiking Fay Canyon on Memorial Day for 10+ years. This is an easy 2.4 mile in-out hike into a pretty canyon.

We'll start promptly at 7:00 AM to avoid any parking problems (because of the Memorial Day holiday) and because the temperatures are projected to rise quickly that day.

The trailhead is located on Boynton Pass Road. To reach it, from the "Y" roundabout, drive west toward Cottonwood on SR 89A about 3 miles. Turn right onto Dry Creek Road. Stay on Dry Creek Road to a stop sign (about 3 miles) then turn left onto Boynton Pass Road. Proceed about 1.6 miles to a stop sign. Turn left, continuing on Boynton Pass Road. Park at the first parking area on the left side, about 0.8 miles from the stop sign. The trailhead is across the road from the west end of the parking area. There is a toilet at the parking area and a Red Rock Pass or equivalent may be required for parking.

About 1/2 mile into the hike there is a side trail leading up to the Fay Canyon Arch. I don't plan to hike to the Arch, but you are welcome to do so.
