🔥Poetry is not born from meaning. It is not born from order. It is born from chaos.
Creative forces are mysterious: fragmentary, elusive, nonlinear. Like cats, they come when you don’t call them; when you call them, they don’t come. There is an art to conjuring them. Courage in letting them pass through us. In surrendering to them.
💥We explore:
- Blurring the boundary between actor and spectator: acting, listening, observing, responding, bearing witness are different ways of participating, of being present.
- The possibility of a collective voice. Through the exquisite corpse, jazz, call and response, and improvisation, one voice finds another. Meaning is not possessed beforehand: it emerges between us, is discovered, and is built polyphonically.
- Creation not as something that comes out of us, but as a force that passes through us: entering into it without knowing where it will take us, and having the courage to surrender to it.
The workshop will last three hours; a space where voices will come together, culminating in a collective creation.
