A ballade is an instrumental composition based on a heroic narrative. This concert is dedicated to the memory of a human, and in many ways heroic, journey--that of collector, philanthropist and business leader Gordon Lankton (1931-2021). Violinist Liubomyr Senyshyn, a native of Ukraine, and pianist Paulius Pancekauskas, a native of Lithuania, perform music by Maurice RAVEL, Balys DVARIONAS, Yevhen STANKOVYCH and Myroslav SKORYK. Recorded in the fourth floor Armory of historic Faneuil Hall on April 12, this concert is part of the In Honorable Company series of virtual concerts presented by Ballets Russes Arts Initiative in collaboration with the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts (est. 1637).
The streaming premiere of the concert video (1 hr in length), on April 25, will be immediately followed by Q&A with the musicians on Zoom. Viewing and Q&A links will go out to all registered attendees 24 hours, 2 hours and 10 minutes before the streaming premiere. If you cannot join on the 25th, or would like to re-watch the performance, the concert can also be viewed on demand through May 7.
Free registration is available. Ticket purchases and donations are shared by BRAI and the artists. https://ballade.eventbrite.com/
