Welcome to Seek Discomfort – Ice Bathing Club Vienna!
We’re a friendly group of people who enjoy stepping out of our comfort zones, trying new things, and sharing the challenge of ice bathing together.
Everyone is welcome — no matter your background, language, or age. Even if you’re new to Vienna or an expat, this is a great way to meet people and connect.
During our meetups, we dip or swim in the cold water, we support each other, practice simple breathing techniques, and discover that we’re capable of more than we think.
Safety always comes first: there’s no pressure, and you only do what feels right for you. Just encouragement, good vibes, and a shared adventure.
Note: The season starts soon (early October) and the first event is already planned! Join the group so you don't miss out!

New Years Ice Bathing in the Danube 🧊🎉🥳
Neue Donau, Hubertusdamm, 48°14'55.9"N 16°23'28.7"E, Vienna, al, ATWeekly Sunday cold plunge in the Danube.
Come with us for a swim or just a dip in the Danube to test your limits and build your resilience to cold!
The water is going to be around 5°C or a bit less. (We're in single digits! 🥶)
Bring your swimsuit, towel, and warm clothes. If you want, you can also bring extras like warm water (to pour over your feet after the dip to warm up faster), tea, snacks, water shoes, hat — anything that makes the experience more comfortable or fun for you and others!
The approximate timeline:
11:00 meeting at the Danube shore
11:10 breathing exercise (voluntary, possible to skip, but recommended)
11:20 going into water
11:40 warming up & chatting
12:00 end

The number of people who come varies from a few to 10+, but don't worry if you don't know anyone, everyone is welcome. You can also bring your friends of course!
