Winter Holiday Gaming Party - Potluck Food and Gift Swap

Details

• What we'll do
This event is to celebrate the Winter Holiday season... all of them and none of them. Ok, let's be honest, this is a reason to get together, play games, eat food, and steal gifts... I mean, swap... yes, swap gifts. If you're bringing someone with you please make sure to add them as a plus one, etc to your rsvp and make sure they know about the parts of this event. The more you participate the awesomer it will be! This will be cross-posted my other groups.

There are different portions to this event, so pay attention!!!
Pot-luck food, Yankee Gift Swap, and Games of course!

Pot-luck Food
Please bring something to share with everyone. List what you are bringing in the comments section. If we all bring a little something then it won't be a billion dollars for anyone. If you're vegetarian you might want to bring a veggie dish. I cannot guarantee that individual dietary needs will be met, so bring something you know you can eat please. No alcohol allowed at this location

Bring GAMES to play!
As always, bring some of your favorite games to play. We will have time to play and be merry!

Yankee Gift Swap!
You don't have to participate if you don't want to. It's like a Pollyanna with a twist! You bring a unisex wrapped gift and put it in the pile. Your name is written on a slip of paper and put in a hat. The order in which you are drawn from the hat is the order in which you pick a gift. You unwrap it and set it in front of you. The next person can choose to steal your gift or unwrap a new one. More rules will be explained later, but this is one fun game. If you don't bring a gift then you don't get to get a gift. That's the way it works. But you can still cat-call from the crowd and provoke people to steal. =)

Keep gifts at a reasonable price, maybe around $10 - $20. If you have an interesting slightly used game that is still in good condition, with the instructions, and has all of the pieces then you can wrap that up. Please be considerate when doing this, don't wrap a game that's been duct taped back together or is broken and sad. Remember this is a gaming group so gift cards to gaming stores and websites are also a good option.
