Details
Welcome to the first ever event for Segfault Gothenburg!
Agenda
17.00-17.20 Pizza / Drinks / Mingle
17.20-17.30 Intro
17.30-18.00 Talk #1: Don't fear the CMake
Speaker: Joakim Schmidt, Knowit
CMake is arguably the de-facto standard of build systems for C++, but is often considered difficult, overly complicated and is seen as a necessary evil that just needs to be done in order to move on to the real problem. We'll take a look at some best practices, and some common pitfalls, and try to argue for why you should care about your CMake code just as much as you do for your product code.
18.00-18.10 Q&A / Intermission
18.10-18.40 Talk #2: An easy introduction to GPGPU with CUDA.
Speaker: Emil Nordén, Knowit
In this talk we will explore the exciting world of general-purpose computing on graphics processing units, or GPGPU for short, by looking closer at Nvidias CUDA platform. You will learn how to write your very first CUDA application, and we will look at some more complex applications (Did someone say ray tracing?)
