UPDATE #2: I have attached a couple photos to help people find the meeting location.
UPDATE ON LOCATION: Hi, people! Let’s meet in Hermann Park at one of the picnic tables at the bottom of the hill next to Miller Outdoor Theater. Look for the picnic table with two gallon jugs of iced tea and a silver laptop on it. I’ll keep an eye on my Meetup and Instagram inboxes for the 15 minutes leading up to the meetup in case anyone needs help finding the table.

This is a group for people interested in the intersection of mindfulness and self-development. The goal is to discuss and support one another in achieving that highest Maslowian need: self-actualization.

I have observed that there is a need for communities that allow and support individual growth while also maintaining connectedness. This event will be the first meetup, so it will be a bit experimental. If enough people RSVP, we can meet at Hermann Park in the Museum District.

The meeting will involve watching a TED Talk or educational video and having a community discussion about it. I will provide questions to help facilitate the discussion. I will also provide snacks: veggies and whole-grain pita chips with salsa and guacamole. Feel free to bring snacks as well. Let’s see what kind of turnout we get!

More location details will be shared here in the event description if enough people RSVP.

To whoever is reading: best wishes.

About me: I am a community leader at my software company and a professional engineer who has spent years participating in, and occasionally leading, various social circles. I’ve dedicated my life to trauma-informed healing and self-actualization. I have seen its positive effects, and my goal is to create systems that empower everyone in the community to become their best selves.

Although I have read extensively on academic and holistic psychology, I am not a formally trained mental health professional.
