What we’re about
Esteemed seekers of purpose,
Welcome, you have arrived to the space of Self-Philosophy!
Self-Philosophy is an innovative approach that I am bringing to this meetup group in the tradition of the James Hillman Institute - International School of Soul Studies in Florence, Italy, of which I am a certified practicing analytical philosopher and archetypal psychoanalyst.
Our purpose here is to deepen knowledge of the Self in all its dimensions. Through philosophical discussions and psychological analysis of topics and experiences close to our heart, Self-Philosophy is a journey toward self-knowledge for better lives and a better world.
Some of the members attended the first few sessions I have carried out and they experienced an introduction to the subject matter. The conversations were quite interactive and engaging!
I have planned out a roadmap for different ways to address the subject matter.
Introductory group meeting:
The introductory group meeting is meant for anyone who is curious to experience the group context as a trial, and has not been part of prior meetings. Please let me know of your interest to attend, and we may connect 10-15 minute for a quick overview before the trial.
Philosophical circles (small group setting):
These are regular sessions meant for the members that want to continue their journey beyond the introductory group meetings. These sessions are approximately two hours long and will be set up once or twice a month on a day/time to be agreed upon by the group.
Individual psychoanalysis sessions:
For those members that would want to deepen analysis through an individual psychoanalytical session in addition to or instead of the philosophical circles. These sessions are approximately forty-five to 60 minutes long and will be set up as convenient. It is recommended that sessions be held once a week on average.
Connection to the James Hillman Institute and the Jung Hillman Archetypal Psychoanalysis Association (JHAPA), which I am international coordinator for:
includes participation to online circles (mostly in Italian with simultaneous translation); participation in JHAPA events; professional training as a philosopher analyst.
The location of in person sessions will be NW Washington DC (the West End Library for group sessions) or Arlington Virginia and, in some cases, remote.
Sessions will be scheduled several weeks prior, so that you may plan accordingly. I am planning to publish a calendar of events once we have established a more routine cadence of group meetings.
If you have any questions or to express your interest, please contact me via the Meetup platform or my email [cc@curaconsulting.org](mailto:cc@curaconsulting.org).
A little bit more about me:
Analytical Philosopher and Archetypal Psychoanalyst from the Jung Hillman Archetypal Psychoanalytical Association (JHAPA), the approach I take to lead circles and sessions uses archetypal tools toward self-knowledge, building on the work of Karl Gustav Jung and James Hillman. Besides my psychoanalytical practice, I am a climate change and sustainability economist and expert, looking to empower people and organizations to drive change for a better world and a healthier planet.
You are welcome to visit my website, www.curaconsulting.org, and follow me on Instagram @selphilosophy. I offer services in English, Spanish, French and Italian.
I hope to meet you very soon,
Best wishes,
Catalina Cecchi, Certified JHAPA Psychoanalyst and Sustainability Economist
