Hi everyone…and seasons’ greetings.

I wanted to do one more introduction to all self-publishing in multiple ways and different ways to promote your book and increase sales. Depending on the interests of attendees, I can cover the steps to deciding what to publish in what formats, how to format your book, get more sales on Amazon sales, and getting #1 rankings on Google, selling to bookstores and libraries. We can also talk about using your book to do speaking and workshops or using it to grow your business.

The goal is to introduce you to the many possibilities, so you can delve deeper, as well as to introduce you others interested in self-publishing. I’ll be starting a series of workshops on self-publishing starting in January in whatever people are most interested in learning about.

One reason for my delay in having any meetings this past month is I’ve been taking a lot of classes on increasing visibility on your website and your book through a number of methods. These include SEO and findabilty techniques, learning how to increase your rankings on Google for your website and books, and new easy to use video platforms and create online courses from your book, which lead to more sales and income. And now I’ve developed a line of kids books, as well as sold four children’s book to traditional publishers. I can talk more about these different topics if there is interest.

I also been involved in launching several books on self-publishing, including Self-Publish Your Book in Multiple Formats, Creating Your First Sales Team, and a complete branding and promotional program for a book series for a client on the criminal justice system which are being published by his publishing company. I’ve been working with a web designer to update his website, so it is more findable and he has more authority as an expert in this field. You can see his website at www.americanleadershipbooks.com (http://www.americanleadershipbooks.com/).

So even if you’ve come to one of these introductions before, there will be lots of new information to share.

As for me, since there are a lot of new people in this group, I’ve been involved in self-publishing for over 10 years for both my own books and for clients. So far I’ve published over 150 books, about 100 published through my own company Changemakers Publishing, and over 50 published since the beginning of this year. I have helped clients self-publish and market several dozen books as well as find publishers, agents, and film producers. Now I’m developing online courses on different facets of self-publishing and email marketing based on my books: Self-Publishing Your Book in Multiple Formats, Self-Publishing Secrets, Turn Your Blogs into Books, Make More Money with Your Book, The Complete Guide to Email Marketing, How to Find and Work with a Good Ghostwriter, and How to Create Your First Sales Team.

Besides learning about self-publishing, this introduction is a way to get to know other writers interested in self-publishing their own books. There will be informal networking and discussion from 7:00-7:30; the program from 7:30-8:30, then time for questions and more informal networking until 9:00 pm. No charge.

I’ll send the location to those who RSVP two days before the program, which will be on Moraga Blvd. near downtown Lafayette.
