Walking meditations on Tao Te Ching
Details
Dear friends
During this event we will concentrate on verses from chapter 30 of Tao Te Ching. We will reflect together this chapter and then will go for a 20 minute walking meditation in the park!!
Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu is a chinese classical text with 81 verses of wisdom. Though Tao Te Ching has been interpreted subjectively according to who is reading it, for a seeker on the path of wisdom it is a wonderful and precise guide to the process of becoming an enlightened being, to accomplish, within oneself, a high level of spiritual cultivation.
Verse 30 of Tao Te Ching
"Those who use Tao to assist the ruler
do not use military force.
This kind of force has a way of backfiring.
After a great battle comes years of famine.
A skillful ruler achieves his purpose
without using force.
Achieve success without being aggressive.
Achieve success without being arrogant.
Achieve success without thought of gain.
Achieve success without using force.
Too much force will result in loss of strength.
Even the strong eventually grow old and weak.
This is called going against Tao.
Anything that goes against Tao
will come to an early end."
I welcome you towards a fruitful reflection and meditation experience!!
