Dear friends
During this event we will concentrate on verses from chapter 38 of Tao Te Ching. We will reflect together this chapter and then will go for a 20 minute walking meditation in the park!!
Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu is a chinese classical text with 81 verses of wisdom. Though Tao Te Ching has been interpreted subjectively according to who is reading it, for a seeker on the path of wisdom it is a wonderful and precise guide to the process of becoming an enlightened being, to accomplish, within oneself, a high level of spiritual cultivation.

Verse 38 of Tao Te Ching

"Superior virtue (Te) is not superficial,
this is why it is superior virtue.
Inferior virtue is always superficial.
For this reason, it is not true virtue.
The person of superior virtue acts
without intention (wu wei).
The person of inferior virtue
acts with intention yet achieves nothing.
A person of superior benevolence (ren)
acts without intention.
A person of superior righteousness
acts with intention yet without thought.
A person of ritual acts, and there is no response.
He rolls up his sleeves and begins to force others.
When Tao is lost, what remains is virtue.
When virtue is lost, what remains is benevolence.
When benevolence is lost, what remains is righteousness (yi)
When righteousness is lost, what remains is empty ritual (li).
Those who emphasize ritual
bring about superficial words and much confusion.
Small knowledge reduces Tao to flowery phrases.
This is the beginning of foolishness.
This is why the sage dwells in the profound
and not on the superficial.
He dwells in the solid and not the flowery phrases.
He leaves that and sticks to this."

Welcome to a beautiful reflection and walking meditation experience!
