Dear friends
During this event we will concentrate on verses from chapter 39 of Tao Te Ching. We will reflect together this chapter and then will go for a 20 minute walking meditation in the park!!
Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu is a chinese classical text with 81 verses of wisdom. Though Tao Te Ching has been interpreted subjectively according to who is reading it, for a seeker on the path of wisdom it is a wonderful and precise guide to the process of becoming an enlightened being, to accomplish, within oneself, a high level of spiritual cultivation.

Verse 39 of Tao Te Ching

"In ancient times, all things
had attained the One.
Heaven attained it and became clear.
Earth attained it and became peaceful.
Spirits attained it and became active.
The valley attained it and became full.
All these things attained the One.
Thus the ten thousand beings
attained the One.
Kings and rulers achieved it
and ruled all under Heaven.
Because of this I say:
If Heaven were not clear it would shatter.
If the Earth is not peaceful it will collapse.
If the spirits are not strong they will wither away.
If the valley is not full
it might become exhausted.
If the ten thousand beings did not arise
they could be extinguished.
If rulers are not loyal to the people,
their honor will be lost and they will be toppled.
The high must take humbleness as its root
and take the low as its foundation.
This is why true princes and kings
refer to themselves as orphans and worthless.
Do they not take humbleness as their root?
Therefore high praise is really not praise.
For this reason one should not desire
to be exquisite like priceless jade
but rather humble like simple stone."

Welcome to a beautiful reflection and walking meditation experience!
