Philosophical self-inquiry meeting

Topic: All shall be well?

Julian of Norwich said all shall be well and all shall be well and you yourself shall know that all shall be well. I like the sound of it. I remind myself of that as a comfort. At a desperate time in my life, it was the thought that came to me, prior to reading Julian of Norwich. In your experience, is it true?

An opinion: What you truly are has no problems. If you truly know what you are, you’ll know you never had and never will have any problems. Truth will bring you to your true identity if you fall in love with Truth.

I feel like I wrote myself a note to remind myself to remember something important but my handwriting is so bad I can’t read it.
Is there any chance we are making too complicated work of a simple thing? In one translation of the prayer of St Francis of Assisi...the line reads it is in self-forgetting that one finds? Any truth to that? Is that the right way or the wrong way to think about it?

Another opinion: Depends on what you’re trying to find. If you’re in love with Truth, we find it by becoming it. Truth reveals our real identity. We can’t forget something we don’t know.

We meet on alternate Saturdays (occasionally with an extra week between) at the Main Alachua County Library. The library system allows us to reserve one meeting room each month in advance, then not until the day of any other meetings.
