Philosophical self-inquiry meeting

Topic: Anxiety

I’m reminded of a character in a Jack Lemmon movie (Mass Appeal) whom he described as over-scrupulous … and said that the word scruple comes from the Latin word for a rough pebble (in your shoe, for example). Looking up the derivation of scruple, Oxford Languages tags it figuratively as ‘anxiety.’

We meet on alternate Saturdays (occasionally with an extra week between) at the Main Alachua County Library. The library system allows us to reserve one meeting room each month in advance, then not until the day of any other meetings.
