With the maturation of new web standards and speedy browsers the time to build interactive information visualizations has arrived. The tool for the job? Data-Driven Documents (AKA D3).
Users are coming to expect significantly improved experiences at the same time as the information your application needs to present is only increasing in volume and variety. Interactive visualizations are an effective and often delightful way for users to explore, understand, and solve the sorts of data-intensive problems of workflows today.
In this presentation we will cover everything devs of all stripes will need to get off to a running start building interactive visualizations in a practical ways. We'll start with some foundational knowledge of Scalable Vector Graphics, move on with how to join your data to the document, and then illustrate various way you can use the D3 framework to display and interact with that data, and we'll be doing it all with a set of quick, bite-sized examples that you'll be able to fork and play with and use immediately in your own projects.
