This month's talk is

The Intelligence Data Hub by Ed Outhwaite

The Intelligence data hub is an anonymized application developed in collaboration with a large regional police force in the UK. MarkLogic is used to readily ingest data from different 10 different police systems of variable data quality (e.g. arrest, missing persons, intelligence etc.). Semantics, search indexes and phonetic matching techniques are then used to collapse duplicate records into a single 360-dgree view of an offender or victim. This eliminates mundane manual data gathering tasks allowing police forces to focus on higher value activities and deliver a large, measurable impact on victims quality of life and the wider population.

Ed Outhwaite has been a consultant at MarkLogic for three years, working with semantics for considerably longer.
