Semantic Technology: Who, What, Why?

This November, we meet in Alexandria, Virginia for an exciting evening full of questions and answers. Dean Allemang will be our speaker. He is one of the authors of "Semantic Web for the Working Ontologist", and is well-known and respected within the Semantic Web community.

Far from being a pie-in-the-sky dream, semantic technologies are a reality today. Business process modeling, semantic searches, and cross-platform data mapping are just a few of the applications that can bring a high return on investment to an organization. Many companies are now using semantic tools to bring "meaning" to their organization! We'll learn about some of the wide range of uses for this technology, as Mr. Allemang discusses who is using it, what they are doing, and why.

Our host, TopQuadrant, is the maker of TopBraid Suite, an enterprise platform for developing and deploying semantic applications. Prior to Dean's presentation, we will have a demo of the TopBraid suite of products.

Refreshments will be provided, and the location is Metro accessible.
