What we’re about
Sendai Experimental Kitchen (S.E.E.K) is a community organization that is conducting a one-year experiment to connect international and local residents of Sendai through the universal language of food. Through potluck-style gatherings, participants are invited to share their home-country dishes and stories behind them while engaging in meaningful conversations in a welcoming and inclusive space. S.E.E.K aims to create a safe environment for international residents to practice Japanese and for local residents to experience authentic, homestyle ethnic cuisine to broaden their horizons toward cultural and culinary differences. The ultimate goal for S.E.E.K is for incoming, current, and future residents of Sendai to build a deeper sense of community integration and mutual understanding.
