API Design First

In May we will be hosting our first real life meetup, this time we will cover APIs.

Many teams and organizations are embracing an API-first philosophy. In fact, according to the "State of API" report of 2022, two-thirds of the survey respondents ranked themselves as a five or higher embracing API-first, while 62% rated themselves in this way in 2020.

Design First approaches are growing in popularity when it comes to API design. It allows all teams working with API design to work together, using a standard but human-understandable language, allowing the rapid, cost-effective development of APIs with all stakeholders being represented. In this meetup, we will:

• Go through the principles of a "Design First Approach."
• Examine the benefits this approach brings
• Look at an example workflow from beginning to end using Design First
