The National Gingerbread House Competition is a nationally recognized competition and display at the Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa. Admission is FREE. The display of gingerbread houses features whimsical and elaborate handmade gingerbread houses of every size, shape, complexity, and theme. A must-see! You will see everything from rustic cabins to elaborate castles — all built from edible materials and made of at least 75% gingerbread. Contestants from all over the country submit their creations from across four age categories ~ adult, teen, youth, and child.
Besides seeing the gingerbread houses enjoy the enormous fireplaces, dozens of decorated Christmas trees with different themes, and the historic beauty of the Grove Park Inn. Also, treat yourself to their homemade hot chocolate or a hot toddy from the bar. That’s what I plan on doing! I want a hot-buttered rum and to sit in one of the rocking chairs in front of that huge fireplace! Ahhhh! 🔥 🍹

PARKING: Admission is free, but parking certainly isn’t!
Valet: $40 for day parking
Self-parking: $30 for day parking
The proceeds from parking benefits local non-profits.
IMPORTANT: I encourage car-pooling due to the price of parking. If you’re willing to do so please comment in the comment section for this meetup event.
DAWN/CARPOOLING: Dawn has a nice-size Flex Ford and can accept four more passengers. Nataliia & I are already riding with her. The first four to respond get the seats. We will be doing the valet parking for $40 plus tip. Split seven ways it will be about $7-$8 per person. Beats paying the whole $40!

For those riding with Dawn we will be meeting up at IHOP Restaurant on Airport Rd. Please read the separate meetup event for IHOP. Dawn & I will be having breakfast there prior to leaving for the Grove Park Inn. Come join us or just come before we depart (Again, for details please look at separate meetup event for IHOP). I know this is a lot of info. so text or email me with any questions.
DINING: I tried to get dining at the Inn, but for a large group they now require you to pay in advance for everyone with only one credit card. No can do. I also wanted the Sunset Terrace, but they close in early November. Several of the restaurants are seasonal. But if you want something to eat while there they do serve food at their many on-site bars & restaurants (that are not seasonal).
