Jump Off Rock is a scenic overlook in Laurel Park, N.C. near Hendersonville. It has panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Pisgah Mountains. And on a clear day you can see four states ~ N.C., S.C., Ga., and Tenn. To get to the overlook is a short and relatively flat walk from the parking area to the main overlook. So please don’t let any mobility issues stop you from coming and enjoying the beautiful views.

The scenic spot was named Jump Off Rock for legend has it that a Cherokee maiden leapt to her death from the rock after her lover died in battle.

For some reason, I had trouble getting a website for Jump Off Rock. But I googled Jump Off Rock photos and all the information came up plus a video and great photos. Take a look!

Jump Off Rock is very popular, and especially so on the weekends and as the weather warms up so I made this meetup for a weekday.

Jump Off Rock is open from sunrise to sunset everyday. There is no admission charge. It’s free! There are hiking trails, benches to sit on, and dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash. Unfortunately, there are no restrooms.

If you wish to attend our meetup for Taco Fiesta Mexican Kitchen in Horse Shoe, N.C. afterwards for lunch (we have reservations at 12 noon) please RSVP separately on the event page. Taco Fiesta is 7.6 miles from Jump Off Rock. About an 18 minute drive. I hope to see you at both events! So let’s go to Jump Off Rock and then eat good, ole Mexican food afterwards! 😋
