Design Fiction Workshop: Old Dubai Futures

We would like to invite you to Fikra, the new design space in Sharjah. We currently are hosting two Designers-in-Residence - One is Adnan Arif from Sharjah and the other is Kevin Zweerink from Virginia, USA.

As part of their research, they will be conducting collaborative workshops - Adnan will do a design fiction workshop (3-5pm) and Kevin will do a collaborative workshop / performance (5:45pm-7pm). You will not only get the opportunity to take part but also get to visit the cool Fikra space. Below are the details for both of them.

OLD DUBAI FUTURES:
Adnan's work as a resident at Fikra Campus focuses on exploring speculative future narratives from the hyper-transient areas of Old Dubai.

You’re invited to join us at Fikra campus on March 31st and April 1st at 3pm for a collaborative design fiction workshop.

INTERFERENCE ZONES:
Kevin Zweerink’s work as a resident at Fikra Campus focuses on methods of understanding the space between Dubai and Sharjah as a distinct category of space. You’re invited to join us on-site in the transurb on April 1, 2, or 3 at 5:45PM for a collaborative workshop/performance to channel the unique energy of the space into a written artifact, followed by snacks and conversation. Feel free to attend more than once, but note that the activities will be the same on each date.
